It must have been a long time between test matches, because an unusually large number of my friends aren't staying at home tonight to watch a movie or having dinner with friends - instead they're all off to Eden Park to watch the first All Black match of the year, against England. The All Blacks team was announced last weekend and, not surprisingly, Ma'a Nonu was included in the line-up. Known for his powerful attacking runs and tackles, Nonu has become a key member of the squad.

In his 11 years with the All Blacks, he has rarely given personal interviews but last week sat down with Canvas writer Alan Perrott to talk about life on and off the field, including his passions outside of rugby - which include, of all things, film-making.
