Get patched

Designer Natalija Kucija is making somewhat of a return, with a small selection of one-off pieces being sold through Ponsonby's Miss Crabb boutique. Kucija, who had her own label in the early 2000s before moving into costume design for film and TV, has hand-cut and sewn one-off halter tops made from fabrics she has collected. Natalija Kucija limited edition blue patchwork halter top, $580, from Miss Crabb, ph (09) 361 3322.

The shoe for you

Treat yourself for Christmas with these beautiful heels, with espadrille style crepe sole and leather strap detail - summery for holidays, and smart enough for when you return to work next year. Loeffler Randall "Neel" espadrille pump, $695, from here.

Let it shine

Wearing them together may make you look a little like a shiny festive decoration, but on their own, these Topshop pieces would be perfect for Christmas Day or New Year's Eve. Topshop lurex striped party frock, $165, and glittery shoes, $135, from Topshop at The Department Store. Ph (09) 489 4229.

Ring it

A new line of porcelain geometric jewellery from the label Nido has arrived in store at Taylor Boutique. Made from sustainable porcelain, the range features squared-off rings and three-sided amulets inspired by an ancient belief that certain shapes hold mysterious powers. This textured white porcelain ring with gold edge is $195. Ph (09) 376 6544.

Antique style

Looking for stocking filler ideas? These Czech vintage stone earrings by Kate Grace Jewellery could be just the thing. They're handmade in New Zealand with antique brass-filigree fleur-de-lis detail and a selection of stones including rose pink and ultra blue. $69.99 from PPS, 430 Mt Eden Rd Mt Eden, ph (09) 623 2666.

Fashion phone

The worlds of technology and fashion continue to collide in very stylish ways: like the new LG Prada 3.0 phone, which launched in London last week and is set to arrive in New Zealand early next year. The sleek, minimalist smartphone combines LG's leading technology with Prada's high-end chic - looking the part as well as being technically up to scratch. At $999, it features Prada Saffiano leather on the back, and will come with its own Prada bag. A very limited number will be available in New Zealand, so a wait list has been set up, for those who want to be one of the first to get their hands on this (those on it will be given preference when they go on sale in February/March next year). Get your name on the list now by calling 0508 547 322.
