A couple who were on the run after allegedly assaulting and threatening a woman with a knife and stealing a car have been arrested in Dunedin.
Police said a 15-year-old girl and 20-year-old man were arrested on Wingatui Road in Mosgiel about 7am.
The couple evaded police after the girl allegedly assaulted a woman and threatened her with a knife in Invercargill.
The pair then took off heading north in a stolen vehicle, police said.

Road spikes stopped the vehicle at Allanton, but the girl and the man took off on foot.
Both were being interviewed by police and it was too early to say whether charges would be laid.
