From tomorrow, Spark customers will be able to monitor their home from their smartphone with the official launch of Spark's home security system Morepork.
Exact details of the product are being kept under wraps until its official launch tomorrow, but Spark's technology development branch Spark Ventures, said the system would allow customers to control and monitor their homes remotely from their smartphones, providing a smart alternative to traditional security and alarm systems.

Morepork would be available for sale from mid morning and Spark's new general manager for Smart Living Gemma Croombs said it signalled a move into the smart living space.
"More than 70 per cent of our customers now own a smartphone and this is estimated to grow to around 80 or 90 per cent within a few years," Croombs said.
"New Zealanders are using their smartphones as the "remote control for life", so it makes sense they will want to use an app to look after their homes."
Morepork would be the first in a new range of smart home products being developed and launched by Spark.
