For a young single guy, Chadi Zaya says living in the Wiltshire on Victoria apartment building is great because of its inner city location.

It's handy to favourite Auckland nightlife haunts and cafes for the daylight hours. Sky City is just across the road, and it's an easy walk anywhere in the city, or down the hill to Victoria Park if you fancy green grass as a contrast to the urban landscape around the apartment area.

There is also easy access to motorway connections; the apartment is close to Britomart and bus routes, and it's within walking distance of AUT and Auckland University.

Chadi bought this apartment on the eighth level about five years ago. At first he lived here for a couple of years before moving home to save some money.

"I bought it because it was close to the Sky Tower and restaurants. It is central; definitely the location appealed. You can enjoy the New Year's celebrations and holiday feeling in the inner city.

"And I knew it was a fairly new building and had no leaky homes issues."

He says he gets a little bit of a sea view as his corner apartment faces the harbour and has two balconies. "It gets a lot of sun from about eight in the morning through to mid afternoon, say three o'clock.

"There are about 21 storeys above ground in the building and each floor has three units. There are two elevators."

Another thing he likes about this apartment building is that it has an enormous digital billboard on one of the exterior walls and that brings in revenue (last annual figure was 126.775.27+GST) and subsidises the amount of body corporate fees residents pay each year.

His apartment has two bedrooms on either side of the lounge/dining open plan area and there is a separate kitchen.

The two balconies are accessed from the lounge.

Having those balconies means on warm days, it's easy to get an air flow through the apartment, and it's a nice place to dine alfresco or just to get some fresh air.

Chadi says the majority of people in the building are owner-occupiers - "another reason I bought".

"They are really nice people in this building."

He has just finished painting the apartment walls in a crisp, clean white.
He is selling because he wants to be mortgage- free.

"I have been renting the apartment out and living with my parents. I am single and 30, and I want to cash up and pay off my loan."

He imagines the apartment will appeal to someone who wants to live in the centre of town and, like him, enjoy being in the buzz of the inner city.
