Napier Aquahawks' Ruby Adsett topped the Hawke's Bay medal count with eight at the national age-group swimming championships, which ended in Wellington at the weekend.
On the final night of the champs on Saturday Adsett was one of three HB swimmers in the HBPB 15 years girls medley relay team that won gold.
Her clubmate Kaitlyn Cotter and Greendale's Bobbi Gichard were the others. Adsett also won silver in her 100m freestyle final in a HBPB record time of 58.86s.
Gichard, who finished the five-day nationals with five medals, also won silver in her 50m backstroke final with a HBPB record of 29.26s.
Central Hawke's Bay's Bevan Jacobs won silver in his 13 years 1500m freestyle final in 18m49.40s.
Aquahawk Stuart Graham won silver in his 16 years 200m butterfly final in 2m11.96s.
Graham's twin brother Tavis won bronze in his 50m backstroke final in 28.23s. Fellow Aquahawk Josh Gimblett captured bronze in his 14 years 100m freestyle final in 56.94s.
Four Hawke's Bay swimmers, the Aquahawks trio of Hadlee Dyer, Bruin Maunder and Cameron Maddams and Joseph Belcher of the Sundevils club, formed the HBPB 15 years boys 4 x 100m medley relay team that won bronze.
Napier Aquahawks finished seventh in the battle for the top club award.
