Napier Aquahawk Zandra Danvers broke a 15-year-old Hawke's Bay-Poverty Bay swimming record at the national short course championships in Dunedin last night.
Competing in the 14 years girls 800m freestyle, Danvers finished fifth in the final with a time of 4m30.64s. Sara Shaw was the previous recordholder.
Her clubmate Callum Joll collected a silver medal when swimming with Sundevils Tim Dawson and Matt Thomas and Gisborne's Glen Anderson in the 4 x 50m freestyle relay final.
Sundevil Katie Bone collected a silver in the open women's 50m breaststroke final with a time of 32.83s.
Greendale's Hannah Jones won a gold medal in her 15 years and under 200m fly final.
Central Hawke's Bay's Billy Annetts won silver in his 15 years and under 100m backstroke final.
