Rowing twins recognised

Hastings District Council renamed and redeveloped the former Clive Ski Reserve to recognise the sporting achievements of double Olympic gold medallists, twin sisters Caroline Meyer and Georgina Earl (nee Evers- Swindell). The two Hastings women now live in the South Island but in a video message, said they were honoured to have the park renamed the Evers-Swindell Reserve. The site is next to the Clive River and opposite the Hawke's Bay Rowing Club where they spent many hours training to become rowing champions. Warren Buckland took the photos.
