Good on Hastings Girls' High School and Constable Chris Leppien for working together to help students pass their learner's licence.
Not so long ago there were some upset people saying that it was harder and harder for people to get their learner's licence.
Some claimed that if they failed the first time the cost was too much for them to try again in a hurry.
However, this initiative just goes to show that practice makes perfect.
The school's workplace co-ordinator Maxine Gilmour said before Constable Chris (as the students call her) had applied her skills and helped the students they had a lot of fails.
Ms Leppien uses a one-on-one approach with the students along with her own learning aids such as memorable answer association.
It's great to see these young girls getting such a good and solid start to their driving "careers".
Some of the more "experienced" drivers on our roads could do with some lessons from Ms Leppien.
It's almost a daily occurrence to see drivers running red lights, turning in front of oncoming cars, not using their indicators or gesturing madly at another driver instead of keeping their own eyes on the road.
Accidents do happen, but most crashes are caused by driver error.
It's up to each and every driver to be as careful as they possibly can be when they are behind the wheel.
