Cranford Hospice is celebrating 35 years on Friday with a special auction featuring everything from an All Blacks playing strip to an apron signed by the former prime minister.
The Cheval Room in Hastings will play host to a cocktail party where people can get the chance to walk away with Israel Dagg's signed Canterbury training strip, an All Blacks 2015 World Cup jersey and shorts signed by the 2015 World Cup squad, a framed Magpies jersey signed by the 2009 squad, an apron signed by sir John Key, a floral lithograph limited edition print by Gary Bukovnik and Mission Estate Winery Wine from the first Mission Estate Winery Concert.
Cranford Hospice marketing and fundraising manager Nathalie van Dort said ever since the hospice treated its first patient in 1982 they have been humbled by the community's support.
"We have touched the lives and the hearts of many and we are a community organisation who are continuously blown away by everyone's generosity."
The nurse who treated the first patient will speak at the fundraiser alongside staff and members of the board.
Iona College will also be performing and there will be a birthday cake to celebrate the hospice's 35th birthday.
Ms van Dort said Te Mata Estate Winery had donated the wine and MJ'S Cakes had provided the cake.
The evening will finish with the silent auction where people can get their hands on some "cool gear".
Cranford Hospice provides people of Hawke's Bay with quality specialist palliative care and work to help people make the most of their time left on their final journey.
Since being gifted to the community by Presbyterian Support East Coast earlier this year the hospice is a stand alone charity.
Ms van Dort said the event was open to anyone and hoped the community would get behind them.
"We are fortunate to be here in Hawke's Bay with such good support."
Tickets cost $35 and can be purchased online at www.eventfinda.co.nz/2017/cranford-hospice-35th-birthday-celebration/hastings.
