Police are investigating several suspicious car fires which occurred in Hawke's Bay last week.
Two car fires were reported on Flaxmere Ave last week and a stolen car was found on fire near Waipukurau on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to a car on fire on Pukeora Scenic Rd, near Waipukurau, on Saturday night.
A police spokesperson said a stolen 2006 BMW was found overturned and on fire at 10.52pm and it is being investigated.
A fire spokesperson said Waipukurau Volunteer Fire Brigade sent one appliance to the incident and it appeared as though the driver was not at the scene.
Police are also investigating a suspicious car fire in Flaxmere believed to have been caused by a Molotov cocktail on Saturday at 3.36am.
Hastings Volunteer Fire Brigade senior station officer Nicky Bates said the fire is being treated as suspicious.
"Someone has thrown a Molotov cocktail at the back of the vehicle and it has hit the tyre."
The tyre and outside of the vehicle were scorched but "luckily" the inside of the car did not catch, she said.
Molotov cocktail fires were uncommon for Hastings fire brigade to have to deal with, she said.
Inquiries are also being made as to whether another car fire in the same street a few days before is connected, Ms Bates said.
Fire crews were at the scene for about an hour helping the owner change the tyre and move the vehicle off the street due to concerns the offender or offenders would come back and torch it.
A police spokesperson said the fire appeared to be suspicious and is being investigated but had no further information at this stage.
