A man was airlifted to Hawke's Bay Hospital following a quad bike accident at Ocean Beach yesterday.
The Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter was called to the scene, near Cape Kidnappers, just after 12pm.
Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust general manager Ian Wilmot said the man, aged in his 60s, was retrieved and transported by helicopter to Hawke's Bay Hospital with moderate injuries.
The man appeared to have come off his quad bike while riding in a farming area on the cape, he said.
A hospital spokesperson said the man was in a stable condition in a general ward this afternoon.
