After this week's weather kept the country in suspense as people watched Mahia Peninsula for Rocket Lab's historic launch, it's predicted the weekend forecast for the Bay will have far a less dramatic outcome.
MetService meteorologist April Clark said Hawke's Bay is in store for occasional showers developing this morning and moderate winds throughout the next two days.
A trough, located to the west of the New Zealand, was set to move across the country today and dampen any outdoor activities locals may have planned for the weekend.
Conditions are set to deteriorate for the upper part of the North Island while southerly winds behind the trough clear showers for the west of the island and leave the area from Hawke's Bay to Gisborne with occasional showers.
Ms Clark said although the weekend was set to be wet there wouldn't be any heavy downpours and as of last night there were no severe weather warnings in place.
She said there would be a high of 16C today, with the temperature dropping as low as 9C at night.
Sunday was set to get even cooler, with a high of 15C throughout the day and a low of 7C at night.
Ms Clark said a southerly was set to move in late Saturday and ease off by Sunday.
