Police found about 300 stolen garden ornaments at a Flaxmere property which were likely in aid of fuelling a methamphetamine addiction this afternoon.
Sergeant Cam Donnison said police found garden gnomes, ornaments and pot plants all believed to have been stolen.
"These all appeared to have been items from burglaries in the area in recent weeks, particularly from yards and gardens."
Mr Donnison said these were organised and targeted burglaries of items that were designed to be disposed of easily.
"While several of these items are expensive, most of them were not worth much money. This makes the offending even more disappointing as the items can have real sentimental value to their owners, often having been passed down by family members."
He said for some it may just be a $50 ornament but for others it really impacts on their safety and safety and their feeling of security in their neighbourhood.
"Inquiries into the thefts and the origin of the items are ongoing."
