After days training with some of the best, singing students took to stages across Hawke's Bay last week to showcase their musical ability.
The 2017 IFAC Handa New Zealand Singing School came to an end last night, when the "best of the best" came together for the final Gala and Prizegiving concert at Napier's Municipal Theatre.
For the past 11 days, students have been refining and staging their musical items, with extensive help from the schools nationally and internationally acclaimed faculty.
They then participated in a concert programme to showcase their hard work and talent, at venues from Napier's St John's Cathedral, the Havelock North Function Centre, or at Friday's Cabaret at the Tabard Theatre.
New Zealand Singing School Trust Chair Helen Walker said performance was an essential component of the student's study at the school.
"The calibre is high and it is the perfect place to spot the ones to watch out for," she said.
With ten concerts in the programme, students are given the opportunity to perform solo, in ensemble or in massed opera or music theatre choruses, offering their audience a wide selection of classical, opera, music theatre, or even pop to choose from.
