Simply the best was how spectators described Dannevirke's Christmas parade on Saturday.
With a record 42 floats, the parade was one of the largest onlooker Ken Mills had ever seen.
"This would outdo any other bigger town," he said.
For Suresh Patel, a member of the Chamber of Commerce parade committee, the parade was one of the best he had seen in Dannevirke.
"It's certainly the most colourful and there are so many people involved," he said. "Everyone is enjoying themselves and it's brilliant - not just the floats but the atmosphere around town."
Spectators grabbed good viewing spots half an hour before the parade began at noon, led by 22 leisure marching teams.
"There's twice as many people on the street than last year," one man said.
