Sally Jackson, general manager of Napier's Art Deco Trust, has been appointed into a key role with Napier City Council.
Mrs Jackson will take on the new role of Manager Visitor Experiences, joining the Council team from October 2016.
It's a strategic appointment for Council, says Director Community Services Antoinette Campbell, and one that will greatly benefit Napier.
"There are some very exciting developments on the horizon for the National Aquarium, the upgrading of our Napier Conference Centre and Par 2 Minigolf, and Sally has the expertise to lead these improvements and activations.
"We are confident that with Sally in this role, and her fresh, dynamic marketing perspective, Council tourism and cultural facilities will exceed customers' expectations and we'll be able to ensure visitors from far and wide will come to Napier, and - importantly - want to return."
Mrs Jackson says her six and a half years with the Art Deco Trust have been incredibly satisfying.
"Now, I am really looking forward to the challenges of my new role at Napier City Council and am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the wider Napier community."
