Police are seeking a man they believe used a large knife or machete during a robbery at the Mobil Service Station in Taradale Rd last night.

The attendant on duty had been injured during the robbery which happened just after 9.30pm.

The station was still closed while police worked at the scene this morning with a Mobil representative at the site saying they had no comment at this stage, except that the attendant was "okay".

It is understood the man had been cut on the arm and St Ambulance were called to attend to him.

The robber had made off on foot across Taradale Rd toward Trinity Cres in Pirimai.
Police were quickly on the scene and cordons were set up in the immediate area as well as Kennedy Rd.

It was not known what the offender had got away with at this stage. The service station had also been the target of a knife-wielding robber in November 2013.
