Hawkes Bay community contributor Kiri Swannell has been selected as The Warehouse Group's Hawke's Bay Regional Community Hero for 2016.

For her efforts she has won a $500 gift card at The Warehouse for her community organisation Limitless Hope, and is one of nine regional recipients of the award throughout New Zealand.

One of the nine will receive The Warehouse Group's national Community Hero Award at The Warehouse Group Gala Dinner at Vector Arena in Auckland on August 19, where a $5000 cheque will be presented to recognize "the amazing work" they have done.

Mrs Swannell has been operating Limitless Hope since 2013 after identifying a need for emergency shelter in the Hawkes Bay region. This extended to forming a charity which focused on emergency shelter as a short term option for those in need, in addition to providing an empowerment training programme to get people back on their feet.
