The man police are seeking after a police dog was shot dead in Porirua this morning has been on the run since earlier this month, after removing his electronic monitoring bracelet.
Pita Rangi Te Kira absconded from his bail address in Hawke's Bay, where he faces 11 charges of dishonesty, driving and violent offending.
At the time police believed he had returned to the Wellington region, where he has associations with the Hutt Valley and Porirua.
Te Kira is 29-years-old, around five foot four, and of medium build.
Any friends or whanau who know where he is are asked to contact Police.
Police are also asking the public to keep an eye out for a male Maori, who may be armed.
He has short black hair, and is wearing a dark top and shorts.
The public is being advised to stay away from the area around Kokiri Crescent.
