Two Hastings men are facing charges in relation to a spate of commercial burglaries in Hawke's Bay last month.
The two men aged 25 are cousins.
They appeared in the Hastings District Court last week charged with multiple burglaries of bars, shops and other businesses throughout Napier and Hastings during April and early May.
They were remanded without plea to reappear again in court on 9 June.
Detective Sergeant Craig Vining said the pair allegedly targeted mainly licensed premises looking for cash.
"They caused significant damage to many of the buildings they broke into, mainly by entering through roofs or smashing and breaking windows.
The arrests should come as welcome relief to many retailers, some of whom increased their security measures in the wake of the burglaries," Mr Vining said.
