Hawke's Bay's appeal as a cruise ship destination will see three new lines and medium-boutique ships arriving as part of the 42 liners set to visit next season.
One of them, the French-owned Le Soleal which is operated by Companie Du Ponant Yacht Cruises, is a relative newcomer to the cruising scene and was only launched 18 months ago.
It is a four-star liner which holds just 264 passengers and 139 crew and will be arriving at Napier Port for three visits next January and February.
It will also be joined over those two months by the five-star liner Azamara Quest which will also be making its debut stops at Napier.
Operated by Azamara Club Cruises which operates under the umbrella of the Norwegian/US Royal Caribbean Line, it holds 688 passengers and has 408 crew.
Another newcomer will be the Albatross which carries 850 people. They are in stark contrast to the giants of the cruise industry which will be calling at Napier.
The Noordam carries 2380 passengers and the Explorer of the Seas can take 3114 passengers and has 1185 crew.
The current season is yet to run its course with one more arrival set to tie up before the winter sets in. The 684-passenger Insignia is scheduled to arrive on May 23.
The first visitor of the 2015/16 season will be the Sun Princess on October 17.
