Anzac Day is always a special day at the RSA - and this year it will be something very special.
The annual Andrews Sisters show will be extended this year, dedicated to the memory of those who fought in WW1 100 years ago. A new Andrews sister joins the trio - Leana-Jayne Lewis, who has done four part harmony with barbershop, says entertainer and show organiser Yvonne Williams.
"We also have Andrew Sambrook who will pay tribute to our Aussie soldiers. We invite his nurse Nicky Hayes to our show as well."
Yvonne has been organising the show for 15 years and describes "her girls" as very passionate - "We also have Sandy Nielsen who is a very dedicated vocalist in everything that she does."
Yvonne says it is a privilege to perform for the crowds who flock to the various RSA clubs on the day.
"Just to see the look on the old soldiers' faces when we do some of the Vera Lynn songs almost brings us to tears.
"Then we do those good old sing-a-longs they all love - some are sad, some are funny - it almost makes us feel as though we were there on that very sad and memorable day."
Yvonne is grateful to the ongoing support from the RSA, and says this year they have gone one step further with each of the three sisters sporting an updated uniform depicting the three forces - army, navy and airforce.
"We're all rigged out in authentic, up-to-date uniforms with real McCoy badges. The three of us are very proud to be wearing them," she said.
"We will be full on but loving every minute of it."
The first three hour show kicked off on Wednesday evening at Summerset in the Orchard retirement village, Ada St, Hastings. Residents of all the other Summerset villages in the region were invited to attend.
