People intending to head into downtown Napier and parts of Ahuriri this weekend are being advised to park in the outskirts and walk in.
The Tremains Art Deco Weekend is expected to draw more than 30,000 visitors to the city during the next three days and the large number of people, coupled with the large number of events planned, has led to the Napier City Council introducing several temporary road closures from today through to Sunday afternoon.
In listing the temporary closures council works asset manager Bill McWatt made it clear closure meant closure, and there would be no street parking within the areas. Any unauthorised vehicles found there would be towed away at the owner's risk and expense.
Closure signage and barriers will be in place.
