It's coming up roses for the organisers of Norsewood's annual flower show, Heather Cheer says.
Mrs Cheer and fellow members of the Norsewood Promotions group revived the annual event in 2009 and, with favourable weather this year, she's confident the show on November 7, will be another success.
"Our community really gets behind this event and at the moment the rhododendrons are looking marvellous, so everything else should be blooming well come show day," she said.
Mrs Cheer said the donation of two cups with a strong historical connection to gardening in the Norsewood district had added some special historical significance to this year's show.
"They have been given to us by members of the Norsewood and districts garden club which still meets, but no longer holds a flower show," she said. "They wanted them to stay in the community and not end up stored away in a cupboard and forgotten."
The cups, one in memory of Joan Ridge and the other the Una Halford Cup, bring with them memories of two wonderful gardeners, Mrs Cheer said.
