Police are still hunting a man who attempted to abduct a woman in Hastings at the weekend.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Darren Pritchard said that on Sunday morning a 19-year-old walking home in Heretaunga Street East, was approached by a man near New World supermarket.
The woman was forced into the vehicle and driven to Havelock North.
She was able to escape from the vehicle in Te Mata Rd.
The man was described as an Indian of thin build in his mid 20s, with short black hair.
The woman said he spoke poor English.
His vehicle was described as a blue or green four-door hatchback with "an extremely loud exhaust".
