Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two men who burgled a Hastings dairy and beat up the owner.
On Tuesday last week at 1.55am, Lantern Light Dairy owner Lance Mackie was alerted to the shop's alarm being activated and found two male intruders in black clothing attempting to flee the store.
Detective Sergeant Craig Vining said Mr Mackie was struck on the head and hand by a third person with an "unknown sharp object".
Mr Mackie received several injuries, including cuts to the head and arm and abrasions and grazes.
Police have released CCTV footage from the store on the corner of Willowpark Rd North and Grove Rd, in the hope the public can help identify the suspects.
