All Black legend Colin 'Pinetree' Meads will be one of three guest speakers at next week's pre-test luncheon in Hastings.
Meads (pictured), who played 133 games for the All Blacks including 55 tests between 1957 and 1971, will be joined by former New Zealand runner Dick Tayler of Christchurch and a mystery speaker. Tayler, who is a staunch Canterbury rugby supporter, won gold in the 10,000m track event at the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch.
The Hastings Indoor Sports Centre-hosted function is a fundraiser for Hawke's Bay's Saracens Rugby Football Club.
"This event is the only pre-test function in Hastings and a great way of supporting age group rugby in the Bay," Saracens stalwart and former Magpie Hilton Meech said.
Ten tables remain for the September 5 luncheon which will cater for 500 people. Tables of 10 are selling for $1200 or fans can purchase $120 individual tickets from the Hastings RSA.
