Napier's St John Ambulance will benefit to the tune of more than $1300 in the wake of an Anzac Day fundraiser organised by the Hawke's Bay branch of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club.
"The weather was brilliant so it was an excellent ride," club president Cliff Heydon said.
While a full head count had not been taken, he said more than 100 motorcycles took part, with some riders coming from as far as Taupo, Gisborne and Manawatu.
"We had a wide range - big bikes, small bikes, pretty well everything."
Mr Heydon said the club, which has 105 members, had been staging the Anzac Day run for more than 10 years with the proceeds going to St John to be used to purchase new equipment.
As in past years, when it had been decided how the money would be used, a St John representative would take the new equipment or items along to a meeting of the club to show the members what they had provided.
