Fine weather will greet this weekend's Hawke's Bay Today Country2Coast, with light winds and clear skies forecast.

Organised by the Havelock North Rotary Club, the fun run follows the scenic Rotary Pathways between Farndon Park in Clive and the Clifton Bay Cafe.

Included on Sunday is a 15km walk, run or competitive "Dash" and a 7km promenade can be made from Haumoana Memorial Park.

MetService meteorologist Mike O'Connor said early morning showers and winds would ease on Sunday after a front pushed through Hawke's Bay tomorrow.

Winds weren't likely to reach more than 30km/h as the weather system died away and northerlies developed later on Sunday, with a high of 20C tipped in Napier and Hastings.

Early morning showers could greet the region's Anzac Day dawn services today but a northwesterly would ensure a relatively fine and warm day, with 24C forecast for the twin cities.

Mr O'Connor predicted a cooler day tomorrow, with a gentle southerly bringing early morning showers and a high of just 20C.

Country2Coast participants will carry a transponder that automatically records times as they travel. The estimated walking time to travel the flat 15km track is about two hours and 45 minutes.

The Hawke's Bay Today sponsored event's proceeds go to charities, such as Cranford Hospice, Child Cancer and surf lifesaving clubs. Last year it raised $20,000.
