Busy morning for road crashes

Three police cars, an ambulance and a fire truck attended a car crash (pictured, right) on Korokipo Rd near Fernhill yesterday morning.

The driver of a van that had been parked on the side of the road failed to give way to a car as it pulled out, resulting in the accident. The driver of the car was assessed at the scene by ambulance staff before being given the all-clear.

Sergeant Clint Adamson, who attended the crash, said the driver of the van faced a fine for failing to give way.

A two-car collision on Maraekakaho Rd at 8.15am yesterday resulted in a motorist being taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital with minor injuries.
