Work on track despite rain

Rain is forecast across Hawke's Bay over the next three days but it is not expected to dampen too many maintenance projects taking place across the regions highways.

New Zealand Transport Agency contractors will be applying some water of their own along stretches of SH2 between Napier and Nuhaka as water blasting and other maintenance is carried out. Delays can be expected at all sites, with the total estimated effect on travel times between Napier and Gisborne being around 15 minutes.

NZTA says delays can be expected on the southern stretch of SH2 between Napier and Dannevirke.

Road maintenance is being carried out at several sites between Pakipaki and Takapau.

People travelling SH5 between Napier and Taupo can expect a largely uninterrupted journey, as while there is some roadside maintenance taking place on the Rangataiki Plains no delays are anticipated.

Sealed shoulder work continues to be carried out on the SH50 expressway section between Kennedy Rd and Taradale Rd.
