MetService forecasters have issued a severe weather watch for Hawke's Bay with heavy rainfalls expected across Hawke's Bay between now and Wednesday.
A cold southerly flow is spreading over Hawkes Bay today, while a complex trough should lie slow-moving across the upper North Island.
Rain is expected to affect Hawkes Bay today and during Tuesday, before easing on Wednesday.
"Heavy falls are possible, especially about the ranges, but at this stage it is uncertain whether rainfall amounts will meet warning criteria. said MetService forecasters, who are maintaining a watch.
