A century of fire fighting in Waipukurau was celebrated on Saturday - with the public getting a special insight through the ages.
The main street of the Central Hawke's Bay town came alive with an early morning parade showcasing 27 fire vehicles, said Waipukurau Volunteer Fire Brigade deputy CFO Owen Spotswood.
The fire engines ranged from vintage to modern times, he said.
"The newest being the command unit from Hastings and the oldest being a 1919 Model T, plus everything in between."
Mr Spotswood said the 100-year celebration parade was well attended by locals, who also visited the vehicles on display at St Joseph's School field during the afternoon.
An open day of the refurbished fire station and an evening event at Pukehou Station also proved to be popular events.
