A reader alerted us to Jeremy Shirley's mural on the exterior wall of Zeal in Ward Lane (pictured). "Someone has stuck a Hamilton City Council traffic sign to the bottom, left-hand corner, saying 'P10, loading zone'," says Warren. "It's good to see that someone at the council understands the worth of Hamilton's public art. It's unlikely that a Parisian traffic sign would be stapled to the canvas of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa in The Louvre."
It's not in Hamilton, but we're a big fan of The Lime Room in Pauanui. Their entire summer menu is gluten free. We highly recommend the salmon and prawn pizza with a lemon aioli base. Perfect washed down with a crisp, dry cider.
Not ...
Having your bananas packed at the bottom of the bag of fruit and veges. They look alright when you get them home, only to find they've turned black overnight.
Miserable pre-summer weather. We feel like we want to hibernate again.
