Think pink for breast cancer support

Wear something pink and get to the Fairfield Baptist Church for a Pink Ribbon Breakfast 'brunch' to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

The May 25 event is at the church on the Heaphy Terrace-Searancke Place corner.

Organisers hope for 80 to 100 guests. Everyone is welcome at a cost of $10 per person, or make up a table of eight for $70. All profits will be donated to the foundation. Come and help us to raise $1800, or more.

Wear something pink and enjoy a range of great breakfast and cooked brunch goodies, pink fruit juice, freshly-brewed coffee and tea from 9.30-1pm. Along with brunch, there will excellent music and a silent auction made possible by a wide range of goods and services donated by local businesses. There is also an opportunity to hear from a speaker whose life was touched by breast cancer. A senior medical practice nurse will also discuss the need for early detection of breast cancer.

Proceeds from the Pink Ribbon Breakfast will go toward the foundation's work in the community and provide education and support for women living with, or recovering from, breast cancer. Last year the foundation spent more than $950,000 on its work in this area.
