NCEA results available online

With results finally out following yesterday's NCEA glitch, high traffic on the site has brought it to a standstill today

NZQA was able to announce this morning that results were out after a bungled test run yesterday gave students brief access to preliminary results which were then pulled.

Complaints were flying from students and teachers, who felt the inconsistencies were unethical and confusing.

But since the announcement just after 8am today, students have been having trouble logging on to see how they performed this year.

NZQA said the site has not crashed but its servers are at "full capacity''.

"Demand is very high at the moment,'' NZQA posted to its followers on Twitter.

"It hasn't crashed - it's just a bit slow due to demand.''

Some are frustrated with the delay.

Chris McDonald wrote on Twitter "A bit slow would be an understatement.''

Another posted a picture of the site saying, "This webpage is not available''.

More than 163,000 students should able to view their NCEA results online from today.

Results have been released on the NZQA website.

Students can login to the Learner Login to view their results.

School Result Summaries and Records of Achievement are available on request and will be mailed out to students.

New Zealand is the only country in the world to return marked examination papers to students.

This will take place from late January.

Following the return of marked papers, students have until 18 February to apply for reviews and reconsiderations, or to ask NZQA to recheck or re-mark standards.

New Zealand Scholarship students will be able to view their results online in mid February.

National statistics on NCEA will be available on the NZQA website at the end of March.
