Waikato Hospital sits astride a commanding location overlooking Hamilton City and Lake Rotoroa as building work continues on the major redevelopment programme.
The $430 million project began in 2005 and is due for completion in mid-2014. The total rebuild has provided more than 800 jobs with more than $100 million flowing into the community.
Current projects include the major Meade Clinical Centre and associated Smith Building demolition, the older pesons and rehabilitation building and the Regional Renal Centre
The five-level, 39,000 square metre, $130 million Meade Clinical Centre is the most significant part of the programme and the biggest hospital project seen in Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
The building will open in three stages from September.
