To help publicise their forthcoming November epilepsy awareness month, supporters of Epilepsy Waikato Charitable Trust (EWCT) are taking part in this year's Round the Bridges fun run/walk event in Hamilton on Sunday November 19.
The team members will be easily spotted wearing their bright purple vests.
Epilepsy affects at least one in 100 people and, for those living with the condition, life can be challenging.
November is EWCT's epilepsy awareness month, and various activities have been planned to promote understanding, support and affirmation for those living with the condition.
As well as having a go in the city fun run/walk event, EWCT is offering a free short course on basic first aid at 6.30pm at Red Cross Offices, 422 Te Rapa Rd, on Wednesday, November 8.
EWCT members will also take part in a handmade crafts event, the 2017 Craft Extravaganza, being held at the Western Community Centre, 46 Hyde Ave, from 10am to 2pm, on Saturday, November 18.
Entry is free.
EWCT, which covers the entire Waikato-Coromandel area, is providing epilepsy information daily and weekly throughout November on its website at www.ewct.org.nz/events
