South African concert a first for Hamilton

Following a hugely successful debut concert in Auckland last year, Jurie Els is bringing SA Goud 2013 to Hamilton.

The concert, which features the biggest contemporary Afrikaans hit songs of the past five decades, promises to be a toe-tapping, sing-along and a nostalgic walk down memory lane.

The concert is on Saturday, February 23 at 7pm at the St Paul's Methodist Centre Auditorium on London St.

A light meal ('boerewors' - hot dogs) and refreshments will be on sale from 6pm.

Artists, including Jurie Els, Fritz de Wet and JP en Mitelene Enslin, will entertain with favourites from pop and rock artists such as Dozi, Theuns, Nicholis and Kurt to evergreen golden oldies from Sonja Herholdt and Sias Reinecke, e.g. Transkaroo, Op Blouberg se Strand, Lisa se klavier, Kinders van die Wind and Sproetjies.

A wide range of CDs, DVDs and children's books will be on sale at the concert.

Tickets are $10 per person. Pre-school children are free. Tickets from Elite Meats, 97 Fifth Ave, Enderley; Christa 849-5572, Stephanie 854-3415 and at the door.
