Beauty spot: Glossy Revival

By Carmen Hall

Invented by Max Factor in 1930 for the movie goddesses, lip gloss has come of age and experienced a popularity revival.

Often the first product used by pre-teen girls as an introduction to makeup, its shaken off this image and is once again considered a "must have" beauty item for grown-ups.

Frequently infused with SPF, moisturising agents and ingredients that make the lips look softer and plumper, it has evolved and changed with the times.

The clear, liquid lacquered, strawberry-flavoured gloss from childhood is a distant memory and has been replaced by long-lasting versions in every colour shade imaginable.

And even though the fruity names have stuck, the comparisons stop there.

We have an Inka Lip Whips valued at $32.99 to giveaway. Send in your name and contact details to by October 18.
