Josh Geary has made a huge leap up the leaderboard in Final Stage European Tour Qualifying with an impressive round of seven-under par 64 to sit T17 with one round to go (tonight).
The final qualifying consists of five rounds instead of the usual four with the top 25 players earning a European Tour Card for 2018 which gives Geary a great chance to join Ryan Fox overnight.
After opening the event with three even-par rounds on the two Lumine courses in Spain, it looked as though Geary would miss out on his tour card and maybe even miss the cut.
However, the 33-year-old who celebrated his birthday earlier in the week flicked the switch to produce two very important rounds of golf for his career shooting 67 and then 64 to move to 11-under for the tournament, bang on the top 25 and 2018 European Tour card number.
The last round is being played on the Lakes Course where he will be hoping for the best birthday present yet.
