Brief history of the club: The club opened in 1895 and is the oldest course in New Zealand that still lies on the same site as when it opened.
Key personnel: Manawatu Golf Club has produced three players that have played on the PGA Tour. Grant Waite, Craig Perks and Tim Wilkinson. The latest top player is 2014 New Zealand Amateur Champion Josh Munn.
Course description: A beautifully manicured park land course. Manawatu Golf Club features tight fairways that are tree lined and fast rolling greens. The course is a par-72 that measures over 6,000m off the back tees. The greens are protected by a number of white sand bunkers.
Best hole: Hole 10 - is a par 4 measuring 370m dog leg left that requires a well-placed tee shot with a mid iron approach to an elevated green. The green severely slopes from back to front making putting tricky.
Best feature of the course: The Manawatu Golf Club is a great course with terrific off-course facilities. It has new clubhouse with covered practice range.
