Tiger Woods's management has felt compelled to issue a statement dismissing reports of the 14-time major champion having an affair with Jason Dufner's former wife.
The 39-year old is said to be having a 'steamy affair' with Amanda Boyd, 27 - who divorced former PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner in April.
According to The National Enquirer, Woods and Boyd started their relationship while he was still with Lindsey Vonn.
The Enquirer said the couple became an item after 'flirting on the tour circuit'. They have allegedly been together for several months - and a source told the magazine the relationship is now 'serious'.
However Woods's agent Mark Steinberg has branded the rumored romance a 'complete lie'. In an e-mail to FOX411 he said the claims were fabricated and false.
Vonn, the US skier, and Woods split in May after a three-year relationship, while the Dufners had a quick and unexpected divorce the month before.
However, Mark Steinberg, Woods's long-time agent was emphatic in his rebuttal. "Absolutely 100 per cent false," Steinberg said in an email to Fox. "Complete lie and fabrication."
Woods could do without this as he tries to recover his form in time for The Open at St Andrews in two weeks. Today he plays in the first round in West Virginia and after he feels he has improved since last month's US Open at Chambers Bay, where he shot 80 and 76 to record his worst 36?hole total in 19 years as a professional.
