VILAMOURA, Portugal - New Zealand golfer Michael Campbell has moved closer to home, relocating his family from England to Sydney.
Campbell, wife Julie and his two sons have shifted from their base in Brighton, south of London after 10 years in England.
The 2005 US Open champion said themove was influenced by a desire to have his boys continue and finish their schooling in Australia.
His world ranking has plunged to 369, after a series of missed cuts and lowly finishes.
Campbell returns to the European Tour this week to contest the Portugal Masters - his first outing on that tour since a finishing near the tail of the field in Germany last month.
He was also well out of contention in last week's India Open in New Delhi, though he did make the cut.
"It was an interesting experience, the first time I'd been to India," Campbell said.
Campbell joins compatriot Mark Brown in tackling the Victoria course on the on the Portuguese Algarve but will be without regular caddy Peter Coleman who is unavailable with an eye problem.
Howie Rosser will carry the bag.
Campbell will then contest next week's Castellon Masters in Spain and head straight for the co-sanctioned Singapore Open.
He winds up his year at the Australian Masters in Melbourne from November 12 and December's Australian Open in Sydney.
