A new statue of Argentine football legend Diego Maradona has been unveiled in Kolkata, India, and the internet is loving it.
The statue shows Maradona lifting the 1986 World Cup trophy but it has been met with ridicule online as people fail to see the resemblance between the bronze sculpture and the football icon.
"It looks like someone's gran," is one of the common reactions online.
The 12-foot statue was unveiled in Kolkata and features Maradona sporting a healthy head of hair.
Online commenters have compared the statue to former England managed Roy Hodgson, Bobby Ewing from Dallas, Susan Boyle and David Hasselhoff, among others.
It has also evoked memories of the Cristiano Ronaldo bust unveiled earlier this year at Madeira Airport, when the airport was renamed after the Portuguese football star.
Maradona was in India for the unveiling of the statue.
"I am not god of football but a simple footballer," he said through an interpreter after the unveiling.
"It's amazing to have my statue here," he added.
