Mexico football coach Miguel Herrera has been sacked following allegations he punched a journalist.
Herrera had just guided Mexico to a record breaking seventh Gold Cup win as they beat Jamaica 3-1 in the final just two days ago.
A television journalist said he was hit in the neck and threatened by Herrera at Philadelphia Airport.
The incoming boss of the Mexican Soccer Federation Decio de Maria said the incident was not in keeping with the body's spirit of fair and respectful competition.
He said: "Our values, our principles, are above any result. In our profession, our industry, the matches are never over, and as public figures who represent an institution we must be absolutely clear on that."
The 47-year-old guided Mexico to the last 16 of last year's World Cup after taking over in October 2013.
