First drinks: Always feels like it should be a glass of wine at Andiamo, they pride themselves on the international list crafted by sommelier Edmundo Farrera. On a warm afternoon, we picked a bottle of Craggy Range rosé - we are having a love affair with the blushing drop this summer (nay, every summer). However, there are more than 25 different wines sold by the glass, so you could sip your way through a selection from the award-winning selection. Just tell the charming staff what mood you're in, they are happy to oblige.
The vibe is: Always jovial, despite the white linen tablecloths which can sometimes signal something more posh. This is a Jervois Rd stalwart where diners chatter over plates of perfect Italian food while others extend happy hour out the front.
It smells of: Delicious Italian food when the time is right. Or if you're sitting out the front, just the scent of those passing on the street - not necessarily a bad thing in affluent Herne Bay.
On the stereo: My Girl and other romantic classics, mostly hidden in the background of our banter. We like it that way.
Room for improvement: It's pretty hard to fault these guys - they tick all the boxes for a wonderful wine time.
The perfect spot for: Catching up with a small crew who appreciate a good glass of wine. Go with an empty belly so you can make the most of the outstanding menu.
Most redeeming feature: The service and afternoon sunshine at this corner establishment makes it an ideal spot to settle in for the afternoon.
