The menu was varied and interesting and printed on recycled paper. The most unusual dish was a toss-up between the spiced wagyu mince on toast, avocado and cashews ($17.50) and the forest mushroom ragu, buffalo haloumi and smoked garlic toast ($16.50).
The look is hip and industrial, but with cute touches such as little flowers in flasks. We immediately wanted our own home to be inspired by the decor of Scullery.
The food was some of the best brunch fare we've had in this city. We ordered the spiced wagyu mince and forest mushroom ragu but it was hard to decide as all the offerings were interesting and enticing. Both our choices were generous in their portions, the mince was nutty and subtly spicy. The succulent mushrooms were soaked up by a thick slice of soft bread - brunch perfection.
The coffee was the perfect temperature for drinking and served with a lovely souvenir spoon which we thought was a nice touch.
The service was really friendly, making you feel like you wanted to become a regular.
Overall we thought Scullery is a star find. It has become one of our favourite inner-city spots. In fact, we'll be back next weekend.
