Allyson Gofton has been cooking for New Zealanders for over 15 years. She has written several cookbooks including the Country Calendar Cookbook, published by Penguin Group.

My favourite summer drink is ...
Bitters, lime and tonic.

In my camping/boating/picnic chilli bin/storage box you'll always find ...
Bread and cheese.

My favourite cookbook/food book last year was ...
I loved My Greek Family Table by Maria Benardis who is an Aussie cook of Greek origins. The recipes are easy to follow and use foods I have at hand, but the way the ingredients are blended together creates that unique flavour that only Greek food has. It has lots of lamb and fish ideas for the barbecue.

This year I'll be ...
In France on a grand family adventure, living in a very rural village in the Hautes-Pyrenees and hoping my children will enjoy the challenge of being French for a year. I'll also be launching the most comprehensive book I have completed to date.

It will be great for both novice and competent cooks.

My New Year's resolution for 2013 is ...
To just "chill" with my kids Jean-Luc and Olive-Rose and husband Warwick, and take every opportunity that comes our way in France - new friends to make, new foods and wines to drink, new places to visit.
